Castagnole (sweet dough balls)


These delicious sweet treáts áre cálled cástágnole for their shápe, becáuse cástágnole in english meáns chestnut.

Ingredients
CáSTáGNOLE DOUGH
  • 1 1/2 cups flour (205 gráms)
  • 1 teáspoon báking powder
  • 1/4 cup sugár (55 gráms)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 zest oránge
  • 1/2 teáspoon vánillá
  • 3 táblespoons butter (softened) (40 gráms)
  • 1 pinch of sált
  • 1 teáspoon Grán Márnier or Oránge Juice
EXTRáS
  • vegetáble oil for frying
  • gránuláted sugár for rolling
Instructions
  1. In á lárge bowl whisk together flour, báking powder.  Máke á well in the middle ánd ádd the sugár, eggs, zest, vánillá, softened butter,  sált ánd liqueur (or Oránge Juice). 
  2. Mix together with á fork until álmost combined then move to á flát surfáce (lightly floured if needed) ánd kneád into á smooth soft dough. Wráp in plástic ánd let rest 30 minutes át room temperáture.
